งานวิจัยในครั้งนี้มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาพฤติกรรมการใช้ Social network ของสาขาวิศวกรรมซอฟต์แวร์ มหาวิทยาบูรพา โดยสังเกตจากการสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบบังเอิญจากนิสิตสาขาวิศวกรรมซอฟต์แวร์ ซึ่งแบ่งเป็นเพศชายจำนวน 10 คน เพศหญิง 10 คน มีการเก็บข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบสอบถาม แบ่งโครงสร้างคำถามเป็น 4 ตอน คือ ตอนที่ 1 ข้อมูลทั่วไปของผู้กรอกแบบสอบถาม ตอนที่ 2 ข้อมูลทาง Social network ที่ผู้ตอบแบบสอบถามใช้ ตอนที่ 3 ข้อมูลช่วงเวลาที่ผุ้ตอบแบบสอบถามเข้าใช้งาน Social network ตอนที่ 4 ข้อมูลผลกระทบจากการใช้ Social network ของผู้ตอบแบบสอบถาม
จากผลสำรวจพบว่า Social network ของนิสิตนิสิตสาขาวิศวกรรมซอฟต์แวร์ใช้กันมากที่สุดคือ facebook มีช่วงเวลาเล่นมากที่สุดคือ 08.00-12.00 น.และผลกระทบที่ได้รับมากที่สุดคือสายตาเสีย ส่วนการเปรียบเทียบพฤติกรรม ระหว่างเพศชายและเพศหญิง จะพบว่าผลกระทบของการใช้Social network ของนิสิตสาขาวิศวกรรมซอฟต์แวร์ มหาวิทยาบูรพา เพศชายจะเล่นSocial network น้อยกว่าเพศหญิง คิดเป็นร้อยละ 6.67 และ ผลกระทบในการใช้ Social network พบว่าเพศหญิงจะได้รับผลกระทบในการใช้ Social network มากกว่าเพศชาย
