สะพานสารสิน เป็นสะพานที่อยู่ระหว่างจังหวัดพังงาและภูเก็ต เป็นสะพานแรกที่มีการสร้างเพื่อข้ามจากจังหวัดพังงาไปภูเก็ต เชื่อมต่อระหว่างบ้านท่าฉัตรไชยและบ้านท่านุ่นของจังหวัดพังงา โดยทางหลวงแผ่นดินหมายเลข 402 มีความยาวทั้งหมด 660 เมตร เปิดใช้เมื่อ 7 กรกฎาคม พ.ศ. 2510

สะพานแห่งนี้ตั้งชื่อตามนามสกุลของ นายพจน์ สารสิน ซึ่งขณะนั้นดำรงตำแหน่งรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการกระทรวงพัฒนาการแห่งชาติ เริ่มสร้างครั้งแรกตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2494 โดยเปิดให้บริษัทรับเหมาก่อสร้าง แต่ปรากฏว่าการก่อสร้างในระยะเริ่มต้นมีปัญหาเพราะความไม่ชำนาญการ ต่อมาในปี พ.ศ. 2508 จึงได้เริ่มลงมือก่อสร้างอีกครั้งโดยบริษัท Cristiani & Nelson (Thailand) Ltd. จนสำเร็จสามารถเปิดใช้การได้ในวันที่ 7 กรกฎาคม พ.ศ. 2510 ใช้งบประมาณทั้งหมด 28,770,000 บาท

สะพานสารสิน มีความยาวทั้งหมด 660 เมตรเป็นทางผิวคอนกรีต 360 เมตร ตัวสะพานคอนกรีตอัดแรงยาว 300 เมตร กว้าง 11 เมตร เป็นทางรถวิ่งกว้าง 8 เมตร ทางเท้าข้างละ 1.5 เมตร รับผิดชอบดูแลโดย กรมทางหลวง กระทรวงคมนาคม

สะพานสารสิน เป็นที่รู้จักกันดีในฐานะเป็นสถานที่ที่เป็นตำนานความรักของหนุ่มสาวสองคนที่ไม่สมหวัง คือ โกดำ (ดำ แซ่ตัน) กับ กิ๊ว (กาญจนา แซ่หงอ) ที่มีความแตกต่างกันทางฐานะ ด้วยโกดำเป็นเพียงคนขับรถสองแถวรับจ้างและรับจ้างกรีดยาง ขณะที่กิ๊วมีฐานะที่ดีกว่า และเป็นนักศึกษาวิทยาลัยครู โดยที่ผู้ใหญ่ทางบ้านของกิ๊วได้กีดกั้นทั้งสองคบหากัน ในที่สุดทั้งคู่จึงตัดสินใจกระโดดน้ำตายที่กลางสะพานสารสิน ด้วยการใช้ผ้าขาวม้ามัดตัวทั้งสองไว้ด้วยกัน เมื่อวันที่ 22 กุมภาพันธ์ พ.ศ. 2516 ซึ่งเรื่องราวของทั้งคู่โด่งดังเป็นที่รู้จักไปทั่ว และมีการสร้างเป็นภาพยนตร์และละครโทรทัศน์ คือ สะพานรักสารสิน ในปี พ.ศ. 2530 นำแสดงโดย รอน บรรจงสร้าง และจินตรา สุขพัฒน์ และ สะพานรักสารสิน ในปี พ.ศ. 2541 นำแสดงโดย นันทวัฒน์ อาศิรพจนกุล และคทรีน่า กลอส ซึ่งเป็นละครโทรทัศน์ ออกอากาศทางช่อง 3[1][2]

ในปัจจุบัน สะพานสารสิน ไม่ได้ให้รถข้ามแล้วแต่กลายเป็นจุดชมวิวแทน สะพานเทพกระษัตรี โดยมีสะพานสารสิน 2 ซึ่งเป็นสะพานที่ให้รถยนต์วิ่งอยู่ข้างเคียง มี 2 เส้นทางการจราจร เริ่มสร้างในวันที่ 30 มิถุนายน พ.ศ. 2552 โดย บริษัทอิตาเลียนไทย ดีเวลล็อปเม้นท์ จำกัด (มหาชน) แล้วเสร็จและเปิดใช้ในวันที่ 1 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2554 โดยที่สะพานสารสินเดิม หรือ สะพานสารสิน 1 ได้ถูกปรับปรุงให้เป็นสะพานคนเดินและมีการปรับปรุงสร้างเป็นหอชมวิวทิวทัศน์ และเป็นหนึ่งในสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวที่มีชื่อเสียงแห่งหนึ่งของจังหวัดภูเก็ต[4]
