เกิดวันที่ 24 มิ.ย 2508 ที่ อ.ยโสธร จ.อุบลราชธานี (ปัจจุบันคือ จ.ยโสธร) มีพี่น้อง 7คน เป็นคนกลาง มีน้องสาวที่เล่นตลก คือ แวว จ๊กมก ออกจากบ้านตั้งแต่อายุ 16 - 17ปี มาทำงานอยู่กับวงดนตรีลูกทุ่ง ของ สดใส รุ่งโพธิ์ทอง เป็นวงแรก โดยเริ่มทำงานใน ตำแหน่ง_คอนวอย (เด็กยกของ) ก่อนจะได้เลื่อนขึ้นมาเป็นหางเครื่อง & ตลก ตามลำดับ
หลังจากนั้น หม่ำ ได้ย้ายไปทำงานกับ วงดนตรีลูกทุ่งหลายวง เช่น เกรียงไกร กรุงสยาม , โชคชัย โชคอนันต์ & สุพรรณ สันติชัย , หลังจากนั้น หม่ำ จ๊กมก ตัดสินใจ รวมตัวกับ เพื่อนศิลปินตลก ตั้งตลกคณะเก้ายอดขึ้น ก่อนที่ในที่สุด จะได้รับการชักชวนให้มาเล่นตลก ในคณะ เทพ โพธิ์งาม ทำให้หม่ำแสดงตลกร่วมกับ คณะเทพ โพธิ์งาม มาตลอด โดยใช้ชื่อขณะนั้นว่า "หม่ำ สปาเก็ตตี้"

ภายหลัง จึงเปลี่ยนชื่อเป็น "หม่ำ จ๊กม๊ก" โดยรับหน้าที่ เป็นตัวประกอบรับมุก ในคณะของ เทพ โพธิ์งาม
จนหม่ำเริ่มดังเป็นที่รู้จัก เทพ โพธิ์งาม เห็นหม่ำ สามารถยืนได้ด้วยตัวเองแล้ว จึงไล่ให้หม่ำ ออกจากคณะเทพ โพธิ์งาม เพื่อไปตั้งคณะตลกเอง โดยหม่ำ ได้ออกไปตั้งคณะให้ชื่อว่า คณะหม่ำ จ๊กมก โดยมีสมาชิกคนสำคัญ เช่น จาตุรงค์ มกจ๊ก , เท่ง เถิดเทิง , โหน่ง ชะชะช่า , เป๋อ จ๊กมก เป็นต้น
ปี พศ. 2535 หม่ำ จ๊กมก ได้รับการชักชวน จาก ปัญญา นิรันดร์กุล ให้มาร่วมทำงานกับ บ.จก WORK = WorkPoint Entertainmet โดยได้มาทำหน้าที่เป็น ตัวปริศนาในรายการ ชิงร้อย_ชิงล้าน ในช่วง.. ชิงบ๊วย ครั้งแรกเมื่อวันที่ 5 กพ. 2535 , นับแต่บัดนั้นเป็นต้นมา หม่ำ จ๊กมก ก็ทำงานร่วมกับ WORK มาตลอดจนถึงปัจจุบัน
