บทความวิชาการนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์ คือ (1) เพื่อศึกษาผลกระทบทางลบจากการท่องเที่ยวที่มีต่ออุทยานแห่งชาติทางบก 5 ปี ย้อนหลัง(พ.ศ. 2555-2559) (2) เพื่อเสนอแนะแนวทางในการจัดการแก้ไขผลกระทบทางลบที่เกิดขึ้น จากการศึกษาผลกระทบดังกล่าว สามารถสรุปได้ว่า อุทยานแห่งชาติในประเทศไทย ปัจจุบันยังคงประสบปัญหาในการบริหารจัดการด้านการท่องเที่ยวในเขตพื้นที่อุทยานแห่งชาติ ทั้งในด้านกฎระเบียบที่ใช้บังคับแก่อุทยานแห่งชาติที่ไม่เอื้ออำนวยต่อการจัดการ และปัญหาด้านพฤติกรรมของผู้เข้ามาใช้ประโยชน์ในอุทยานแห่งชาติ ที่ไม่ค่อยให้ความร่วมมือในการอนุรักษ์ และใช้ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติอย่างถูกวิธี จึงทำให้เกิดผลกระทบทางลบหลายด้านจากการท่องเที่ยว และอาจส่งผลกระทบต่อทรัพยากรธรรมชาติต่อไปในอนาคต อย่างไรก็ตาม ทางหน่วยงานภาครัฐที่เกี่ยวข้องควรเร่งดำเนินการแก้ไขตามนโยบายของแผนแม่บทอุทยานแห่งชาติอย่างจริงจัง และพัฒนาอุทยานแห่งชาติให้เป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวอย่างยั่งยืน เพื่อรักษาทรัพยากรธรรมชาติอันเป็นฐานทรัพยากรหลักของการท่องเที่ยวสืบไป
