ศูนย์การเรียนรู้ ICT ชุมชนบ้านวัดจันทร์ อ. กัลยาณิวัฒนา จ. เชียงใหม่


ตั้งอยู่กลางวงล้อมของหุบเขาและแม้จะขึ้นกับ อ. แม่แจ่ม จ. เชียงใหม่ แต่การเดินทางไปตัวอำเภอนั้นยากลำบากและต้องใช้เวลานานกว่าไปตัวเมืองเชียงใหม่หรือแม่ฮ่องสอนเสียอีก บ้านวัดจันทร์จึงเป็นชุมชนใหญ่ของชาวปกากะญอที่ดำรงอยู่อย่างสมถะและโดดเดี่ยวมานานนับร้อยปี
ที่นี่มีวัดเพียงแห่งเดียวคือ วัดจันทร์ เป็นศูนย์กลางทั้งทางจิตใจและทางสังคม ชาวปกากะญอจำนวนไม่น้อยเป็นพุทธศาสนิกชนและก็มีบางส่วนได้เข้ารีตเป็นคาทอลิก แต่ก็สามารถเชื่อมโยงกันผ่านกิจกรรมที่มีวัดเป็นศูนย์กลาง จวบจนกระทั่งบ้านวัดจันทร์ได้รับการยกฐานะขึ้นเป็นอำเภอใหม่ คือ อำเภอกัลยาณิวัฒนา แม้แต่ที่ว่าการอำเภอซึ่งยังสร้างไม่แล้วเสร็จก็ยังต้องใช้พื้นที่วัดแห่งนี้เป็นที่ทำการชั่วคราว
