ความหมายของการประดิษฐ์ คือ ความคิดสร้างสรรค์เกี่ยวกับลักษณะ องค์ประกอบโครงสร้างหรือกลไกของผลิตภัณฑ์ รวมทั้งกรรมวิธีในการผลิต การรักษาหรือปรับปรุงคุณภาพของผลิตภัณฑ์ให้ดีขึ้นหรือทำให้เกิดผลิตภัณฑ์ขึ้นใหม่ที่แตกต่างไปจากเดิม

พลาสติก เป็นสารประกอบอินทรีย์ที่สังเคราะห์ขึ้นใช้แทนวัสดุธรรมชาติ บางชนิดเมื่อเย็นลงก็จะแข็งตัว เมื่อถูกความร้อนก็อ่อนตัว บางชนิดแข็งตัวถาวร มีหลายชนิด เช่น ไนลอน ยางเทียม ใช้ทำสิ่งต่าง ๆ เช่น เสื้อผ้า ฟิล์ม ภาชนะ ส่วนประกอบเรือหรือรถยนต์

– ก๊าซธรรมชาติ
