จึงนับว่าในอดีต "หัวใจ สำคัญกว่าสมอง"


ในขณะที่ปัจจุบันนั้นเราจะบอกว่าตายหรือไม่ตายจะวัดที่ กระแสประสาทที่ก้านสมอง ถึงแม้หัวใจยังเต้นอยู่ แต่ก้านสมองตายแล้ว"โดยทางการแพทย์นั้นถือว่าตายแล้ว" กลับกัน ถ้าหัวใจวายหรือไม่ทำงาน เราก็ยังมีชีวิตอยู่ได้ด้วยหัวใจเทียม จึงทำให้ปัจจุบัน "สมอง สำคัญกว่า หัวใจ"
