การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาพฤติกรรมการแต่งกายของนิสิตวิทยาลัยการเมืองการปกครอง มหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม เพื่อให้ทราบถึงปัจจัยที่มีผลต่อพฤติกรรมการแต่งกายของนิสิตวิทยาลัยการเมืองการปกครอง มหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม และเพื่อนำผลงานการวิจัยนี้เป็นแนวทางในการแก้ไขปัญหาพฤติกรรมการแต่งกายของนิสิตวิทยาลัยการเมืองการปกครอง มหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม โดยมีกลุ่มตัวอย่างจำนวนทั้งหมด 382 คน ได้จากการคำนวณโดยใช้สูตร ของทาโร่ยามาเน่ จำนวน 372 คน และกลุ่มตัวอย่างจากการสัมภาษณ์ จำนวน 10 คน และเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบสอบถาม และแบบสัมภาษณ์ สถิติที่ใช้คือ การแจกแจงความถี่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และการวิเคราะห์เชิงเนื้อหา
ผลการวิจัยพบว่า
1.พฤติกรรมการแต่งกายของนิสิตวิทยาลัยการเมืองการปกครอง มหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม โดยภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก (¯x = 3.69) เมื่อพิจารณาเป็นรายด้านพบว่า ด้านครอบครัวส่งผลมากที่สุดต่อพฤติกรรมการแต่งกายของนิสิตวิทยาลัยการเมืองการปกครอง มหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม (¯x = 4.27) รองลงมาคือ ด้านอิทธิพลของชุมชนและสังคม (¯x = 3.72) ด้านอิทธิพลของวัฒนธรรม/ค่านิยมการแต่งกาย (¯x = 3.70) ด้านอิทธิพลของสื่อ/การรับรู้ข้อมูลข่าวสาร (¯x = 3.47) และด้านที่ส่งผลน้อยที่สุดต่อพฤติกรรมการแต่งกายของนิสิตวิทยาลัยการเมืองการปกครอง มหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม คือ การที่ผู้ปกครองให้อิสระในการไปเที่ยวนอกบ้าน (¯x = 3.29)
2.ข้อเสนอแนะแนวทางการแก้ปัญหาเกี่ยวกับพฤติกรรมการแต่งกายของนิสิตวิทยาลัยการเมืองการปกครอง มหาวิทยาลัยมหาสารคาม มีดังนี้
2.1ผู้ปกครองควรหมั่นอบรมบุตรให้เห็นถึงข้อดีข้อเสียของการแต่งตัวที่เหมาะสมและไม่เหมาะสม และควรปลูกฝังให้กับบุตรอย่างต่อเนื่อง
2.2ครอบครัวและสังคมต้องหมั่นสอนบุตรให้มีวิจารณญาณในการเลือกรับข้อมูลจากสื่อต่างๆโดยช่วยกันสอดส่องดูแลพฤติกรรมการแต่งกาย หมั่นจัดกิจกรรมส่งเสริมการอนุรักษ์วัฒนธรรมไทยอย่างต่อเนื่อง และให้ภาครัฐออกมาตรการควบคุมการนำเสนอของสื่อให้เด็ดขาด มีบทลงโทษที่ชัดเจน และบังคับใช้กฎหมายอย่างเคร่งครัด
