Central Italy between the Marche and Umbrua regions was struck by a series of major earthquakes . The quake measured 6.6 on the Richter scale and It’s was the largest in Italy in 36 years. Aftershocks were felt in Rome. Geologists said the quakes were caused by movements along faults of the Apennine Mountains. Some villages were badly destroyed, but no serious injuries were reported. The victims were rescued by the goverment and they moved into safety place in awhile.
