ที่มาและความสำคัญของโครงงาน
ปัจจุบันคนไทยนิยมบริโภคอาหาร แบบตะวันตกเพิ่มมากขึ้นทั้งอาหารประเภทเร่งด่วน และอาหารว่างประเภทขบเคี้ยว ดังนั้น มันฝรั่ง ซึ่งเป็นวัตถุดิบ หลักในการผลิตอาหารดังกล่าว เพิ่มปริมาณความต้องการบริโภคขึ้นอย่างรวดเร็วในสังคมไทย อาทิเช่น มันฝรั่งทอด หรือที่เราเรียกกันว่า เฟรนช์ฟรายด์นั่นเอง
เนื่องจากในเวลาที่เราหั่นมันฝรั่งนั้นจะใช้เวลานาน และ ชินมันฝรั่งที่ออกมาก็จะมีขนาดที่ไม่สม่ำเสมอ ซึ่งทำให้ดูไม่สวยงาม เราจึงคิดเครื่องหั่นมันฝรั่งขึ้นมา เพื่อสะดวกในการหั่นมันฝรั่ง ทำให้ได้วัตถุดิบที่มีรูปทรงสวยงาม ขนาดสม่ำเสมอ และ เพื่อประหยัดเวลาในการหั่น

วัตถุประสงค์ของโครงงาน
1. เพื่อสะดวกในการหั่นมันฝรั่ง
2. เพื่อประหยัดเวลาในการหั่น
3. เพื่อความสวยงของชิ้นมันฝรั่ง

ขอบเขตของการศึกษา
1. มันฝรั่งที่มีขนาด 4.5 เซนติเมตรขึ้นไป
2. มันฝรั่งที่ปลอกเปลือกแล้ว
สมมติฐาน
สิ่งประดิษฐ์เครื่องหั่นมันฝรั่งจะใช้เวลาน้อยกว่าวิธีการใช้มีดหั่นมันฝรั่งแบบปกติและได้ชิ้นมันฝรั่งที่มีขนาดเท่ากันและสวยงามกว่าการหั่นแบบปกติ
