ทุกเพลงล้วนมีทำนองไพเราะ ประทับใจผู้ฟัง สอดคล้องกับเนื้อร้อง ซึ่งมีคตินานัปการ และเป็นส่วนสำคัญส่วนหนึ่งของชีวิตคนไทย ในยามที่บ้านเมืองไม่สงบสุข ก็พระราชทานเพลงปลุกใจเพื่อเป็นกำลังใจแก่ ข้าราชการ ทหาร พลเ รือน และประชาชนผู้ปฏิบัติหน้าที่เพื่อประเทศชาติ มิให้เกิดความย่อท้อในการทำความดีต่อชาติ ศาสน์ กษัตริย์ ต่อตนเองและต่อสังคม ทรงตั้งสถานีวิทยุ อ.ส. ขึ้น (อัมพรสถาน) เมื่อปี พ.ศ.๒๔๙๕ เพื่อเป็นสื่อกลางในการให้ความบันเทิง สารประโยชน์ และข่าวสารต่าง ๆ แก่ประชาชน ต่อมาได้โปรดเกล้าฯ ให้นักดนตรีรุ่นหนุ่ม ๆ มาเล่นปนกับรุ่นลายคราม ซึ่งเล่นดนตรีไม่ค่อยไหวตามอายุ ด้วยเหตุนี้จึงเกิดวงดนตรี “อ.ส.วันศุกร์” ขึ้น ปัจจุบันสถานีวิทยุ อ.ส. ได้ ย้ายมาตั้งอยู่ในบริเวณ สวนจิตรลดา
