คือลักษณะโครงสร้างด้านหน้าของฉาก ที่มีหลายส่วนประกอบกันเพื่อสร้างสิ่งแวดล้อมที่เป็นสถานที่ให้ตัวละคร รวมทั้งเป็นแบ็กกราวนด์ด้านหลังตัวละครที่อยู่บนเวที รูปแบบฉากจึงสามารถสื่อสถานที่และเหตุการณ์ต่าง ๆ ในฉากได้ชัดเจน จึงแบ่งออกได้ ๓ รูปแบบ คือ
๑. รูปแบบฉากภายใน (interior setting) จะแสดงให้เห็นถึงสถานที่ที่เป็นภายในอาคารสถานที่ต่าง ๆ เช่น ภายในที่พักอาศัย ในรถประจำทาง ในเรือ ฯลฯ
๒. รูปแบบฉากภายนอก (exterior setting) แสดงให้เห็นภายนอกสถานที่ต่าง ๆ เช่น สวนหน้าบ้าน ในป่า รั้วหน้าบ้าน ฯลฯ
