โดยในปี พ.ศ.2527 ครอบครัวคุณโอฬารและคุณปิยวรรณ วีรวรรณ ได้เดินทางมาธุดงค์กรรมฐาน และเกิดความเลื่อมใสในปฏิปทาของพระป่า ได้ช่วยเหลือด้านกฎหมายเป็นระเบียบของกรมป่าไม้ ให้วัดป่าสามารถอาศัยพื้นที่ป่าสงวนได้อย่างถูกต้อง ต่อมาท่านพระอาจารย์อินทร์ถวาย สันตุสสโก เจ้าอาวาสวัดป่านาคำน้อย ได้เมตตาพาไปดูป่าไม้ที่อุดมสมบูรณ์ยิ่ง แต่กำลังจะถูกสัมปทานตีตราตัดไม้ คณะศรัทธาจึงได้ตัดสินใจสร้างวัด โดยกราบอาราธนาท่านพระอาจารย์ชาลี ถิรธัมโม (ปัจจุบันเป็นพระครูจิตตภาวนาญาณ) เป็นประธานและขวัญกำลังใจในการก่อสร้าง จนเป็นผลสำเร็จดังนี้
