• ยางสังเคราะห์ เป็นผลิตภัณฑ์ที่มีการพัฒนาเพื่อแก้ไขข้อบกพร่อง ให้มีคุณสมบัติเหนือยางธรรมชาติ ยางสังเคราะห์สามารถจำแนกออกได้ เป็น 2 กลุ่ม คือ
กลุ่ม 1 ยางที่มีคุณสมบัติทนความร้อนได้ดีกว่ายางธรรมชาติ แต่คุณสมบัติทานด้านความเหนียวและความยืดหยุ่นด้อยกว่ายางธรรมชาติ ยางสังเคราะห์กลุ่มนี้ ได้แก่ SRB (Styrene - Butadiene Rubber), BR (Polybutadiene Rubber)
กลุ่มที่ 2 เป็นยางที่มีคุณสมบัติทนต่อน้ำมัน ทนต่อความร้อนและโอโซน ยางสังเคราะห์ในกลุ่มนี้ เช่น CR (Chloroprene Neoprebe Rubber), NBR (Acrylomitrile Butadiene (uilites) Rubber )
• ผงเขม่าดำ (Carbon Black) เป็นผลิตภัณฑ์ที่ได้จากน้ำมันดิบ คุณสมบัติช่วยให้ยางแข็งตัว เพื่อเพิ่มความทนทานของยาง และทนต่อรอยขีดขวนต่าง ๆ
• สารเคมีต่าง ๆ เป็นส่วนประกอบที่สำคัญ ในการผสมยางธรรมชาติ ยางสังเคราะห์ และผงเขม่าดำ เพื่อเร่งปฏิกิริยาในการผลิต และเตรียมเป็น Compound Rubber ที่พร้อมนำไปขึ้นรูป สารเคมีที่ใช้แบ่งเป็น 4 กลุ่ม คือ

2. สารป้องกันบางเสื่อมสภาพ (Protective Agent) สารกลุ่มที่ได้แก่ สารโอโซน
3. สารช่วยในกระบวนการผลิต เช่น น้ำมัน ช่วยให้ยางที่ทำการผสมมีคุณสมบัตินิ่มนวล
4. สารอื่น ๆ เช่น สารที่ทำให้ยางฟู หรือใส่ให้ยางมีสีต่าง ๆ
ขั้นที่ 2 การทำลวดขอบยาง (Bundling), การฉาบยาง (Coating) การขึ้นรูปขอบลวด(Foaming)

วิธีการคือ นำเส้นลวดมาทำเป็นขอบยางรถยนต์ คือ การดึงเส้นลวดมาในสายการผลิต แล้วทำการฉาบด้วยยาง จากนั้นนำไปขึ้นรูปขอบลวด
เส้นลวดที่ใช้ในการผลิตแบ่งเป็น 2 ประเภท คือ
1. เส้นลวดประเภท Bead Wire สำหรับทำขอบยาง
2. เส้นลวดประเภท Steel Cord เป็นเส้นลวดใยเหล็กที่ใช้กับยาง Radial
หมายเหตุ เมื่อผ่านขั้นตอนที่ 2 แล้วจะได้ขอบลวดออกมา (Bead Rings)
ขั้นที่ 3 การทำโครงผ้าใบและการฉาบยางกับผ้าใบ
เมื่อผ่านขั้นตอนนี้แล้วนำแผ่นยางไปตัด ก็จะได้ โครงผ้าใบและเข็มขัดรัดหน้ายางเส้นลวด
ขั้นที่ 4 การทำเส้นลวดเหล็กและการฉาบยางกับเส้นลวด
เมื่อผ่านขั้นตอนนี้แล้วจะได้เข็มขัดรัดหน้ายาง
ขั้นที่ 5 การดันเนื้อยางเพื่อขึ้นรูปแก้มยางและหน้ายาง
เครื่องจักรสำหรับขึ้นรูปยาง เป็นการนำเอายางที่ผสมแล้ว มาขึ้นรูปเป็นลักษณะของชิ้นส่วนต่าง ๆ โดยอาจนำปัจจัยการผลิตอื่น ๆ เช่น ผ้าใบ เข้ามาเป็นส่วนประกอบ 1 เครื่องจักรที่ใช้ในการขึ้นรูปยาง มี 2 ลักษณะคือ
1. เครื่องจักรประเภท (Extrusion) เป็นเครื่องจักรที่ใช้ขึ้นรูปยาง โดยอาศัยแรงดันจากการหมุนของสกรูดันยางผสมผ่านแม่พิมพ์ออกมา Extrusion ใช้ในการขึ้นรูปยางในส่วนของโครงยางและขอบยาง
2. เครื่องจักรประเภท (Calendar) เป็นเครื่องจักรที่ขึ้นรูปยางโดยลักษณะการรีดยาง โดยลักษณะการรีดยางผสมที่เคลือบหรือฉาบกับวัสดุอื่น ๆ ให้เป็นแผ่นที่มีความหนา โดยอาศัยการรีดผ่านลูกกลิ้งจำนวน 2 ลูกในเครื่องจักร ใช้สำหรับขึ้นรูปในส่วนของชั้นผ้าใบ และเข็มขัดรัดหน้ายางในกรณีที่เป็นยางเรเดียล
ขั้นที่ 6 การประกอบโครงยาง
เมื่อผ่านขั้นตอนนี้แล้ว จะได้โครงยางสำเร็จรูป (Green Tire)
ขั้นที่ 7 การอบยาง (Curing Machine)
เครื่องอบยาง (Curing Press) เป็นเครื่องจักรที่ทำหน้าที่อัดลายดอกยางลงบนโครงยางสำเร็จรูป เครื่องจักรมีลักษณะเป็นฝาครอบเปิด-ปิด ได้ ภายในมีแม่พิมพ์ของลายดอกยางและช่องผ่านไอความร้อน เพื่ออัดลายดอกยางและอบให้ยางสุก
ขั้นที่ 8 ตัดเนื้อยางส่วนที่เกิน (Trimming)
