จากประสบการณ์การผู้วิจัยได้พบข้อจำกัดในการพูดของนักศึกษา คือ นักศึกษาส่วนใหญ่ออกเสียง คำศัพท์ไม่ถูกต้อง รู้คำศัพท์น้อยไม่สามารถเลือกใช้คำศัพท์ที่เหมาะสมไม่สามารถพูดโต้ตอบได้อย่างเป็น ธรรมชาติ พูดไม่ถูกต้องตามหลักไวยากรณ์ เป็นต้น ผู้วิจัยจึง สนใจที่จะศึกษาปัจจัยที่ส่งผลต่อการพูด ภาษาอังกฤษของนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 4 หลักสูตรวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ คณะมนุษยศาสตร์และสังคมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฎเชียงใหม่ เพื่อประโยชน์ในการขจัดปัญหาที่เป็นอุปสรรคใน การเรียนการสอน ภาษาอังกฤษและเพื่อประโยชน์ในการจัดกระบวนการเรียนการสอนภาษาอังกฤษให้มีประสิทธิภาพและบังเกิดประสิทธิผลต่อไป
