ชนาธิป สรงกระสินธ์ เกิดเมื่อวันที่ 5 ตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2536 ที่ตลาดสามพราน อำเภอสามพราน จังหวัดนครปฐม[1] บิดาชื่อ ก้องภพ สรงกระสินธ์[2] เป็นผู้ที่สอนให้เขาเล่นฟุตบอลตั้งแต่อายุได้ 4 ขวบ และเล่นฟุตบอลอย่างจริงจังในขณะอยู่ชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 4 ที่โรงเรียนกีฬากรุงเทพมหานคร และย้ายมาศึกษาต่อที่โรงเรียนเพ็ญสมิทธิ์ในชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5 หลังจบชั้นประถม ชนาธิปกลับจังหวัดนครปฐมเพื่อเข้ารับการศึกษาในชั้นมัธยมศึกษาตอนต้นจากโรงเรียนสามพรานวิทยา ในช่วงนี้เขาได้เล่นฟุตบอลเดินสายกับทีม ซีแอล ไฮสปีด ทีมฟุตบอลเดินสายชื่อดังในจังหวัดนครปฐม ร่วมกับรัชพล นาวันโน ที่ภายหลังกลายเป็นนักเตะทีมชาติไทยอีกคนหนึ่ง

หลังจบชั้น ม.ต้น ชนาธิปจึงย้ายมาศึกษาต่อที่วิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีพาณิชยการราชดำเนิน (สาขาการตลาด) และเล่นฟุตบอลให้สถาบันไปด้วย โดยช่วยให้สถาบันของเขาครองถ้วยพระราชทาน โดยได้แชมป์ฟุตบอลนักเรียนกรมพลศึกษา 18 ปี ประเภท ก. ในเดือน มกราคม ปี 2554

หลังจากแอนดรูว์ ออร์ด โค้ชทีมเยาวชนสามารถคว้าแชมป์เอฟเอ ยูธ คัพ 2011 ได้ สโมสรก็ได้แต่งตั้งให้เลื่อนขึ้นมาคุมทีมชุดใหญ่ และแอนดรูว์ ออร์ด ก็นำชนาธิป ที่เคยเล่นในทีมชุดเยาวชนภายใต้การคุมทีมของเขามาอยู่ในทีมชุดใหญ่ด้วย โดยได้รับเบอร์เสื้อหมายเลข 18
