เมื่อวันอาทิตย์ที่ 15 พฤศจิกายน 2015 ฉันได้ไปทอดกฐินกับครอบครัวที่วัดดอนพะงาด ตำบลพะงาด อำเภอขามสะแกแสง จังหวัดนครราชสีมา ประเพณีการทอดกฐิน ในแต่ละปีกำหนดให้มีการจัดทอดกฐินขึ้นภายใน ๑ เดือน หลังประเพณีออกพรรษา โดยวัดที่จะสามารถรับกฐินได้ ต้องมีพระภิกษุจำพรรษาโดยไม่ขาดพรรษาเลย ไม่ต่ำกว่า ๕ รูป และแต่ละวัดสามารถรับกฐินได้ปีละ ๑ ครั้ง การทอดกฐินเป็นกาลทาน ตามพระวินัยกำหนดกาลไว้ คือ ตั้งแต่แรม 1 ค่ำ เดือน 11 ถึงวันขึ้น 15 ค่ำ เดือน 12 ผู้มีจิตศรัทธาเลื่อมใส ใคร่จะทอดกฐิน ก็ให้ทอดได้ในระหว่างระยะเวลานี้ จะทอดก่อนหรือทอดหลังกำหนดนี้ ก็ไม่เป็นการทอดกฐิน
