บทคัดย่อ
โครงงานเรื่อง สเปรย์ดับกลิ่นจากสมุนไพร ได้จัดทำขึ้น โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์คือ (1) เปรียบเทียบความสามารถในการกำจัดกลิ่นของสารสกัด ใบเตย ผิวมะกรูด และใบตะไคร้หอม (2) เพื่อลดมลพิษของสิ่งแวดล้อมในด้านกลิ่นที่ไม่พึงประสงค์ (3) เพื่อเพิ่มคุณค่าของสมุนไพรในท้องถิ่น
คณะผู้จัดทำได้นำสมุนไพรท้องถิ่นที่มีกลิ่นหอม คือ ใบเตย ผิวมะกูด ตะไคร้ มาทดลองสกัดเพื่อเปรียบเทียบชนิดของสมุนไพรที่สามารถกำจัดกลิ่นในสถานที่ต่างๆ เช่น ห้องน้ำ สถานที่ที่มีกลิ่นอับ โดยได้นำใบเตย ผิวมะกรูด และตะไคร้หอมมาหั่นเป็นชิ้นเล็กๆ เพื่อให้สมุนไพรสามารถออกกลิ่นได้เร็วกว่าการที่ต้มโดยไม่หั่น ได้สมุนไพรชนิดละ 5 กรัม และต้มแอลกอฮอล์ 50 ลูกบาศก์เซนติเมตร 3 บิกเกอร์ แล้วนำสมุนไพรแต่ละชนิดลงไปต้ม 5 นาที ทิ้งไว้ให้เย็นแล้วกรองกากสมุนไพรออก จากนั้นสามารถบรรจุลงขวดสเปรย์ได้ทันที นำสเปรย์ที่ได้มาฉีดบริเวณที่ต้องการดับกลิ่น 3 ครั้ง สังเกตและบันทึกผล
จากการศึกษาพบว่าสมุนไพรที่กำจัดกลิ่นได้ดีที่สุดคือสารสกัดจากผิวมะกรูด โดยสเปรย์ดับกลิ่นจากผิวมะกรูดสามารถดับกลิ่นได้ตั้งแต่ครั้งแรกที่ฉีดสเปรย์ และใช้ระยะเวลาที่สั้นกว่าสมุนไพรทั้ง 2 ชนิด แล้วยังมีกลิ่นที่มีประสิทธิภาพในการดับกลิ่นกว่าสมุนไพรทั้ง 2 ชนิด
