เศรษฐกิจพอเพียง เป็นการพัฒนาไปสู่ความสามารถในการพึ่งตนเองในระดับต่าง ๆ อย่างเป็นขั้นตอน ช่วยลดความเสี่ยงเกี่ยวกับการเปลี่ยนแปลงจากปัจจัยต่าง ๆ โดยอาศัยความพอประมาณและความมีเหตุผล มีการสร้างภูมิคุ้มกันที่ดี มีความรู้ควบคู่คุณธรรม
หัวใจของหลักเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงคือการ “อยู่ได้ด้วยสิ่งที่มีอยู่ อย่างยั่งยืน” เป็นหลักการและแนวปฏิบัติของโลกในอนาคต ด้วยเรื่องความพอเพียงเป็นเรื่องของบุคคลและองค์กรทุกระดับ
เมื่อได้รับการพัฒนาตามหลักเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง จนเกิดประสิทธิผลและเป็นที่ยอมรับ เยาวชนไทยก็จะเป็นแบบอย่างสำคัญให้เยาวชนจากนานาประเทศ เข้ามาศึกษาแนวทางการดำเนินชีวิตตามหลักเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงเพื่อนำไปปรับใช้ต่อไป
ปัจจัยสำคัญในการพัฒนาเยาวชนไทย ให้เป็นหัวใจของอาเซียน เพื่อพัฒนาตนเองไปสู่การเป็นพลโลก คือตัวเยาวชนเองและการจัดการศึกษา
ในส่วนของการจัดการศึกษานั้นมีการกำหนดไว้ในหลักสูตรการศึกษาอย่างชัดเจนในการนำหลักปรัชญาเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงมาใช้พัฒนาเยาวชน ส่วนของเยาวชนกับการพัฒนาตนเองก็มีความสำคัญเช่นกันเยาวชนจะต้องตระหนัก มุ่งมั่นและแน่วแน่ในการที่จะปรับเปลี่ยนพฤติกรรมตามแนวคิดเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง เพื่อการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนโดยใช้คุณธรรมนำความรู้ พัฒนาตัวเอง ครอบครัว องค์กร สังคม ประเทศชาติ ให้ก้าวหน้าไปพร้อมกับความสมดุล มั่นคง ยั่งยืน ใช้เป็นหลักคิดและหลักปฏิบัติ
นั่นคือคำตอบที่ว่า เยาวชนไทยจะก้าวไกลอย่างแน่นอน
หากเมื่อใดที่เยาวชนไทยสามารถใช้ชีวิตในฐานะเยาวชนอาเซียนและมีการพัฒนาตนเองจนถึงขีดสุด เมื่อนั้นการนำพาประเทศชาติก้าวสู่สากล จึงไม่ใช่เพียงความคิดหรือแค่ความหวังอีกต่อไป
ไม่ว่ากระแสการเปลี่ยนแปลงของโลกจะเป็นเช่นใดหากเยาวชนไทยจะพากเพียรและมุ่งมั่นในการพัฒนาตนเองให้เป็น “พลโลก” ที่มีคุณภาพก็ย่อมทำได้
