สินทรัพย์ไม่มีตัวตน แบ่งออกเป็น 2 ประเภท ดังนี้
1. สินทรัพย์ที่มีอายุการใช้งานจำกัด เช่น ลิขสิทธิ์ สิทธิบัตร สิทธิการเช่า สัมปทาน ซึ่งสินทรัพย์ประเภทนี้จะมีกฎหมายหรือข้อบังคับกำหนดอายุของสินทรัพย์ไว้
2. สินทรัพย์ที่มีอายุการใช้งานไม่จำกัด เช่น ค่าความนิยม เครื่องหมายการค้า ซึ่งสินทรัพย์ประเภทนี้กิจการสามารถใช้ประโยชน์ในการดำเนินงานไม่มีจำกัดอายุ เว้นแต่สินทรัพย์นั้นหมดประโยชน์แล้วกิจการตัดเป็นค่าใช้จ่ายทั้งหมด
