ถ้ำภูผาเพชร เป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวที่ต

ถ้ำภูผาเพชร เป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวที่ตั้งอยู่ในต.ปาล์มพัฒนา  อ.มะนัง  จ.สตูล  เนื้อที่ภายในถ้ำกว่า 50 ไร่  กว้างใหญ่มโหฬาร ธรรมชาติได้รังสรรค์ความสวยงามไว้อย่างอัศจรรย์  ซึ่งเกิดจากหยดน้ำภายในถ้ำ ทำให้เกิดหินงอกหินย้อย  มีมานานมากกว่าร้อยล้านปี  ตั้งแต่ยุคเพอร์เมียน  Permian Period  เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2541 นักโบราณคดีของสำนักงานโบราณคดีและพิพิธภัณฑ์แห่งชาติที่ 10  จังหวัดสงขลา  ได้เข้าสำรวจบริเวณถ้ำ  ตามคำเล่าของพระธุดงด์นามว่า  "หลวงตาแผลง"  ที่ได้ค้นพบถ้ำแห่งนี้   หลักฐานนักโบราณคดีได้ทำการสำรวจและได้สันนิษบานว่า ถ้ำภูผาเพชรแห่งนี้น่าจะเป็นที่อยู่อาศัยของมนุษย์ยุคก่อนประวัติศาสตร์ประมาณ 3000 ปี  มาแล้ว ซึ่งได้พบหลักฐานทางโบราณคดี  กระดูกมนุษย์ยุคโบราณส่วนกระโหลกศรีษะ   พบเศษภาชนะดินเผาเคลือบลายเชือกทาบ  ที่ก้นภาชนะมีเปลือกหอยยึดเกาะ  หลังจากน้นก็ได้พัฒนาเป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวที่ชื่อเสียงตลอดมา
ถ้ำภูผาเพชร เป็นถ้ำที่มีขนาดใหญ่ที่สุดในประเทศไทย และใหญ่ติดอันดับ 4  ของโลก  เนื้อที่กว้างขวางมโหฬารตระการตามาก  เพดานถ้ำสูงโปร่ง  ความงามของหินงอกหินย้อยที่มีหยดน้ำเกาะอยู่  เมื่อกระทบกับแสงไฟจะมีประกายวาวเหมือนเพชร  ภายในถ้ำจัดสรรแบ่งเป็นห้องต่างๆ  20 ห้อง มีไฟส่องสว่างตามทางเดิน มีการตั้งชื่อแต่ละห้องตามลักษณะของธรณีสัณฐานที่พบเห็น   เช่น ห้องม่านเพชร  มีลักษณะคล้านผ้าม่านแขวนเป็นหลืบซ้อนกัน ห้องพญานาค  มีหินงอกต่อตัวกันคล้ายงูใหญ่หรือพญานาค ห้องปะการัง มีหินงอกหินย้อย คล้ายประการังในทะเล ถ้าสังเกตุจากประเภทของหินงอก  (Stalagmite) ก็จะมีชื่อต่างๆ  ตามรูปทรงที่พบเห็นมีมากถึง  31 แห่ง   ได้แก่  ดอกเห็ด  ซุ้มประตู  หัวแหวนเพชร  สายน้ำเพชร หัวพญานาค  พญานาคปรก  เศียรพระ  ดอกบัวคว่ำ  ประเภทหินย้อย  (Stalactite)  ก็มีทั้งหมด 4 แห่ง  มีรูปร่างคล้ายโดม  แบบแมงกระพรุน   และแบบม่าน ประเภทเสาหิน  (Column in Cavern)  ซึ่งเป็นส่วนของหินงอกและหินย้อยมาบรรจบกันกลายเป็นรูปเสาค้ำถ่อเพดานถ้ำ มีมาก14  แห่ง  ประเภทเสาหินมีลักษณะต่างๆ กัน และมีชื่อเรียกว่า  เสาเพชรหรือเสาหินย้อย  หรือเสาค้ำสุริยัน  ส่วนบ่อขั้นบันได  มีลักษณะเหมือนชายน้ำตกหินปูนที่เป็นชั้นๆ เหมือนขั้นบันได  
ภายในถ้ำภูผาเพชร มี 5  แห่ง  รูปทรงต่างกัน แบบขั้นบันได  แบบอ่าง  แบบเวทีคอนเสิร์ต  ถ้าเดินลึกเข้าไปด้านในสุด จะพบโพรง 1 แห่ง เพดานถ้ำบริเวณนั้นเป็นช่องปล่อง มีแสงธรรมชาติสาดส่องกระทบกับหินงอกหินย้อยที่มีสีเขียว  ทำให้ลานกลางห้องเป็นสีมรกตสวยงามแปลกตา จึงตั้งชื่อกันว่า ห้องแสงมรกต  บริเวณที่เป็นไฮไลท์ที่สุดสวยงามสุด คือ ห้องภูผาเพชร  หินงอกหินย้อย มีประกายเหมือนเกล็ดเพชรระยิบแวววาว  เมื่อกระทบกับแสงไฟสวยงามวิจิตรตระการตาเกินคำบรรยาย  คุณจะหลงใหลในความงามมหัศจรรย์ของธรรมชาติถ้ำภูผาเพชร 
การเดินทางสู่ภูผาเพชร : สามารถไปได้ 2 เส้นทาง คือ จากจังหวัดสตูลเข้าทางแยกควนกาหลง เข้าสู่อำเภอมะนัง หากเริ่มต้นจากจังหวัดตรังเมื่อเข้าสู่เขตสตูลให้เลี้ยวซ้ายเข้าสู่มะนังเช่นกัน ทั้งนี้จะมีป้ายบอกเป็นระยะๆ และต้องเดินขึ้นบันไดประมาณ 300 ขั้น (เท่านั้นเอง) ส่วนภายในถ้ำมีบันไดไม้เดินได้สะดวก
เตรียมตัวเดินทาง : นักท่องเที่ยวควรนำไฟฉายติดตัวไปเพื่อส่องดูความงามภายในถ้ำ หรือสามารถเช่าจากชาวบ้านบริเวณทางเข้าถ้ำ และควรสวมใส่รองเท้าที่เดินสบาย
