The objectives of this study were to 1) compare students’ learning achievement on Thai literature (Ramayana: Narai defeated Nontok) of Matthayomsuksa 2 students taught by the cooperative learning using a jigsaw and traditional method, 2) compare students’ learning achievement on Thai literature (Ramayana: Narai defeated Nontok) before and after the implementation of the cooperative learning using a jigsaw method, and 3) investigate students’ satisfaction towards the cooperative learning using a jigsaw method. The sample used in this study was two classes of Matthayomsuksa 2 students at Wattaitalad Municipal School (Kaweethammasarn), Muang, Uttaradit during the first semester of the academic year 2016. The sample was selected using simple random sampling technique. The instruments included jigsaw learning activity, lesson plan of the cooperative learning using a jigsaw and traditional method, pre- and post-achievement tests of Thai literature (Ramayana: Narai defeated Nontok), and questionnaires on students’ satisfaction towards the cooperative learning using a jigsaw method. The data were analysed by mean, standard deviation, t-test independent, and t-test dependent.
