Karmic Relief

It came to past that he, in contemplation of the word given,
Came upon another in greater despair than himself, one in great need.

And he thought, "If I lighten his burden, would I also lighten my own?
If burdens be the fruit of imperfect and unloving acts would I,
Through an act of love, diminish both our burdens?"

Thinking thusly, he aided his brother and both went their way.
One better for being aided, the other for the aiding.
