การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อพัฒนาการเรียนรู้ของเด็กที่มีความบกพร่องทางสติปัญญา โดยใช้ภาพสัญลักษณ์สื่อความหมาย มีกลุ่มตัวอย่างคือ เด็กที่มีความบกพร่องทางสติปัญญา ระดับชั้นอนุบาลปีที่1โรงเรียนวัดจันทนาราม ภาคเรียนที่1/2557 จำนวน 1 คน โดยวิธีการสุ่มแบบเจาะจง เครื่องมีที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ แบบทดสอบก่อนเรียน-หลังเรียน แผนการสอนจำนวน 10 แผนและสื่อกกิจกรรมภาพสัญลักษณ์สื่อความหมาย วิเคราะห์ผลโดยใช้สถิติ ได้แก่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ค่าเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ผลจากการวิจัยพบว่า ความสามารถในด้านการพัฒนาการเรียนรู้ของเด็กที่มีความบกพร่องทางสติปัญญาโดยใช้ชุดฝึกทักษะภาพสัญลักษณ์สื่อความหมาย มีคะแนนเฉลี่ยคิดเป็นร้อยละ 38.00 และค่าเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน 16.00 ซึ่งสูงกว่าก่อนการใช้ชุดฝึกทักษะภาพสัญลักษณ์ สรุปได้ว่า เด็กที่มีความบกพร่องทางสติปัญญามีการพัฒนาการเรียนรู้ที่ดีขึ้น
