ตัน ภาสกรนที เป็นนักธุรกิจผู้ก่อตั้งบริษัท โออิชิ กรุ๊ป จำกัด (มหาชน) ซึ่งเป็นกลุ่มธุรกิจอาหารและเครื่องดื่ม เขาขายหุ้นส่วนใหญ่ให้กับบริษัท ไทยเบฟเวอเรจ จำกัด (มหาชน) ในพ.ศ. 2551 และภายหลังประกาศลาออกจากตำแหน่งกรรมการผู้จัดการโออิชิ กรุ๊ปโดยจะมีผลในเดือนกันยายน 2553

วันที่ 9 กันยายน พ.ศ. 2553 เมื่อ ตัน อำลาจาก บริษัท โออิชิ กรุ๊ป จำกัด (มหาชน) อย่างเป็นทางการ ตัน ก็ได้สร้างบริษัทขึ้นใหม่ชื่อว่า บริษัท ตันไม่ตัน จำกัด โดย ตัน ภาสกรนที ให้คำมั่นสัญญาในการทำบริษัทนึ้ว่า "ในการเริ่มต้นธุรกิจของบริษัท ไม่ตัน จำกัดครั้งนี้ เงินปันผลของบริษัทในส่วนที่ผมและคุณอิง ภรรยาของผมถือหุ้นอยู่ ผมขอแบ่งเงินปันผลนี้ 50% ให้กับมูลนิธิตันปัน ตั้งแต่ปีแรกที่ดำเนินการเป็นต้นไป จนเมื่อผมอายุครบ 60 ปี เริ่มตั้งแต่วันที่ 9 เดือน 9 พ.ศ. 2562 ผมจะเพิ่มเงินบริจาคไม่ต่ำกว่า 90% ให้กับมูลนิธิตันปันตลอดไปเพื่อใช้ในการพัฒนาการศึกษาและสิ่งแวดล้อม"

ตัน ภาสกรนที เกิดเมื่อวันที่ 4 เมษายน พ.ศ. 2502 ในครอบครัวชาวไทยเชื้อสายจีน ที่มีฐานะปานกลาง ที่บิดาอพยพมาจากประเทศจีน และได้ตั้งรกรากที่จังหวัดชลบุรี ตันจบการศึกษาชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 3 และเริ่มทำงานแรกเป็นพนักงานแบกของ เริ่มต้นค่าแรงในการทำงาน 700 บาท และหันมาทำอาชีพพ่อค้าแผงหนังสือที่ชลบุรี และได้เริ่มต้นซื้อห้องแถวขยายกิจการจนเป็นเจ้าของธุรกิจอสังหาริมทรัพย์
