บริษัท เวิร์คพอยท์ เอ็นเทอร์เทนเมนท์ จำกัด ก่อตั้งเมื่อวันที่ 11 กันยายน พ.ศ. 2532 โดยมี ปัญญา นิรันดร์กุล เป็นประธานกรรมการ/กรรมการผู้จัดการ
โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อผลิตรายการโทรทัศน์ และละครโทรทัศน์ที่มีคุณภาพ เป็นองค์กรธุรกิจผู้สร้างสรรค์เนื้อหาบันเทิงครบวงจร ซึ่งเชี่ยวชาญในด้านความบันเทิงหลากหลายรูปแบบ ทั้งการผลิตรายการโทรทัศน์, การผลิตภาพยนตร์, การจัดแสดงคอนเสิร์ตและโชว์บิซ, การผลิตและตัดต่อภาพเคลื่อนไหว ด้วยระบบคอมพิวเตอร์, การผลิตสื่อสิ่งพิมพ์, การรับจ้างจัดกิจกรรมทางการตลาด, และสตูดิโอบันทึกเสียง ทั้งหมดที่กล่าวมานี้ประกอบด้วยสาระ และความบันเทิง
