สถาปนิกวิชาชีพมีสิทธิขออนุญาตองค์กรกำกับดูแลวิชาชีพสถาปนิกในประเทศสมาชิกอาเซียนเพื่อประกอบวิชาชีพสถาปัตยกรรมในประเทศนั้นๆ ได้ ทั้งนี้ สถาปนิกอาเซียนที่ได้รับอนุญาต จะได้ขึ้นทะเบียนเป็นสถาปนิกต่างด้าวจดทะเบียน (Registered Foreign Architect) ซึ่งจะสามารถประกอบวิชาชีพสถาปนิกในประเทศนั้นๆ ได้ ภายใต้เงื่อนไขว่าต้องปฏิบัติตามกฎระเบียบภายในของประเทศนั้นๆ ด้วย ซึ่งบางประเทศ รวมทั้งไทยจะกำหนดให้ต้องทำงานร่วมกับสถาปนิกที่มีใบอนุญาตของประเทศนั้นๆ
