1. คาดการณ์หรือทำนายผลที่เกิดจากข้อมูล
ที่เป็นหลักการ กฎ หรือ ทฤษฎีที่มีอย่ได้
ความหมาย :
เป็นการาดคะเนคำตอบล่วงหน้าก่อนทำ
การทดลอง โดยอาศัยประสบการณ์ที่เกิดซํ้า ๆ หลักการ กฏ หรือทฤษฎีที่มีอยู่แล้ว ในเรื่องนั้นมาช่วยในการสรุป เช่น การพยากรณ์ข้อมูลที่เกี่ยวกับตัวเลข ได้แก่ ข้อมูลที่เป็นตาราง หรือ กราฟ ซึ่งทำได้ 2 แบบ คือ
1. การพยากรณ์ภายในขอบเขตของข้อมูล
2. การพยากรณ์ภายนอกขอบเขตของข้อมูล
