ในสมัยก่อน เมื่อครั้งนั้นโลกยังมีลักษณะแบนคล้ายหลังเต่า มีเสาค้ำจุลโลกในยุคนั้นตั้งชี้สูงขึ้นไปยังดวงอาทิตย์ พื้นโลกเต็มไปด้วยสรรพสัตว์นานาชนิด มีการเข่นฆ่ากันอย่างปกติ ไร้เมตตา ผู้อ่อนแอย่อมเป็นเหยื่อของผู้ที่แข็งแกร่ง และพื้นที่ส่วนใหญ่ยังปกครองด้วยป่า ซึ่งเราเรียกโลกนั้นว่า “โลกาหิมพานต์”
