โครงการนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษา 1)เพื่อบริหารจัดการ คัดแยกขยะ และเศษซากวัสดุที่ไม่ใช้แล้ว ให้มีระบบการตรวจสอบเป็นไปอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ2)เพื่อการดำเนินการให้สอดคล้องกับกฎหมายที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการครอบครองสิ่งปฏิกูลหรือวัสดุที่ไม่ใช้แล้วไว้ภายในโรงงาน
โครงการนี้เป็นโครงการเชิงคุณภาพเครื่องมือที่ใช้ เป็นแบบการสำรวจ แบบสัมภาษณ์แบบสังเกต แบบมีส่วนร่วมและไม่มีส่วนร่วม โดยใช้วิธีการเก็บข้อมูลเอง โดยผู้จัดทำโครงการและวิธีการสัมภาษณ์แบบสนทนากลุ่ม โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาแนวทางในการแก้ไขปัญหาขยะในพื้นที่โรงงานแปรรูปผลิตภัณฑ์นมสหกรณ์โคนมไทยมิลค์ จำกัด ทำการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยนำหลักการของพาเรโตมาประยุกต์ใช้ เมื่อนำข้อมูลมาคิดเป็นเปอร์เซ็นต์แล้วจะพบว่าปัญหาหรือข้อบกพร่องที่รวมกันมีเปอร์เซ็นต์สูงสุด เมื่อปรับปรุงแก้ไขโดยลดเปอร์เซ็นต์ของปัญหาหรือข้อบกพร่องที่มีค่าสูงเพียง 2-3 สาเหตุ
ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ในปัจจุบันสหกรณ์โคนมไทยมิลค์ ยังไม่มีการคัดแยกขยะและยังไม่มีการบริหารจัดการเรื่องขยะอย่างเคร่งครัด โดยบุคลากรส่วนใหญ่มีความเห็นร่วมกันว่ามีความจำเป็น ควรร่วมมือกันทั้งสหกรณ์และแต่ละศูนย์ธุรกิจของสหกรณ์รวมทั้งบุคลากรควรเข้ามามีส่วนร่วมในการจัดการคัดแยกขยะมูลฝอย เพื่อให้สามารถช่วยลดปริมาณขยะมูลฝอยที่ต้องส่งให้เทศบาลนำไปทำลายให้น้อยที่สุดและสามารถนำสิ่งเข้าที่ไม่ใช้แล้วที่ได้จากการคัดแยกมาใช้ให้เกิดประโยชน์ต่อองค์กรมากที่สุด เช่น การนำไปขายเป็นขยะรีไซเคิลเพื่อสร้างรายได้กลับคืนสู่องค์กร เพื่อเป็นการรณรงค์แนวทางการจัดการขยะ โดยการลดปริมาณขยะมูลฝอยให้เกิดประสิทธิภาพสูงสุด ต้องเริ่มต้นที่การคัดแยกขยะมูลฝอยก่อนทิ้งโดยแยกตามระบบ (Four-Can System) เพื่อไม่ให้เกิดการปนเปื้อนทำให้วัสดุเหลือใช้ที่มีคุณภาพสูงสามารถนำกลับมาใช้ใหม่หรือคัดแยกแล้วนำไปขายโดยคิดจากแผนการผลิตในระยะเวลา 3 เดือน คือเดือนกรกฎาคม สิงหาคม และกันยายน ในแต่ละวันจะเกิดการสูญเสียซึ่งการสูญเสียของวัสดุที่พบมากที่สุด คือ กระดาษนมโรงเรียน IPI และ TATRA PAK จำนวน 83,320 ชิ้น น้ำหนัก 0.009 กิโลกรัม ราคาขาย/กก. กิโลกรัมละ 5 บาท คิดเป็นจำนวนเงินได้ 3,449.4 บาท, แกนฟิล์มนมโรงเรียน จำนวน 2,494 ชิ้น น้ำหนัก 0.5 กิโลกรัม ราคาขาย/กก. กิโลกรัมละ 1 บาท คิดเป็นจำนวนเงินได้ 1,247 บาท, แกนสลีฟIPI จำนวน 502 ชิ้น น้ำหนัก 0.5 กิโลกรัม ราคาขาย/กก. กิโลกรัมละ 1 บาท คิดเป็นจำนวนเงินได้ 251 บาท, แกนสลีพ TATRA PAK จำนวน 301 ชิ้น น้ำหนัก 1 กิโลกรัม ราคาขาย/กก. กิโลกรัมละ 1 บาท คิดเป็นจำนวนเงินได้ 301 บาท, Carton จำนวน 1,140 ชิ้น น้ำหนัก 0.25 กิโลกรัม ราคาขาย/กก. กิโลกรัมละ 3 บาท คิดเป็นจำนวนเงินได้ 2,160 บาท รวมรายได้ของการขายวัสดุเหลือใช้ทั้ง 3 เดือน เฉลี่ย 7,408.4 บาท จำนวนผลิตภัณฑ์นม UHT ที่เป็นผลิตภัณฑ์ที่ไม่ได้มาตรฐาน ทั้ง 3 เดือนเป็นจำนวน 80,889 กล่อง 1 Carton บรรจุ 36 กล่อง ถ้าคิดผลิตภัณฑ์ที่ไม่ได้มาตรฐานทั้ง 3 เดือน ออกมาเป็นลัง จะได้ 2,247 ลัง ทางโรงงานจะนำไปจำหน่ายเป็นอาหารสัตว์ในราคาลังละ 38 บาท ซึ่งคิดรวมราคาขายเป็นอาหารสัตว์ทั้งหมดจะได้ 85,386 บาท
