ดิฉันขอเลือกกล่าวศาสนาอิสลาม อิสลามเป็นศาสนาที่บุกเบิกในเรื่องสิทธิมนุษยชน และมีจุดยืนจะให้ความคุ้มครองสิทธินุษย์ชน ทุกคนที่ได้ศึกษากฏหมายอิสลาม กฏหมายจะคุ้มครองสิทธิขั้นพื้นฐานของมนุษย์ อันได้แก่ สิทธิในชีวิต ความเชื่อ ความคิดเห็น ทรัพย์สิน และครอบครัว ดังนั้นการละเมิดสิทธิมนุษย์ชนใดๆ เป็นเรื่องต้องห้ามในอิสลาม
สิทธิมนุษยชนและศักดิ์ศรีความเป็นมนุษย์ในอิสลามตั้งอยู่บนพื้นฐาน 2 ประการ กล่าวคือ
1. หลักการว่าด้วยความเสมอภาคของมนุษย์ ได้แก่ความมีศักดิ์ศรีที่พระผู้เป็นเจ้าประทานให้มนุษย์ทุกคน พระผู้ป็นเจ้าได้ทรงสร้างมนุษย์โดยไม่คำนึงถึงสถานะ หรือความมั่งมี ความแตกต่างที่มีอยู่ระหว่างมนุษย์ย่อมไม่กระทบกับแหล่งที่มา หรือสถานะซึ่งเป็นอันหนึ่งอันเดียวกัน และเหมือนกัน ความแตกต่างที่มีอยู่ระหว่างมนุษย์ในโลกนี้ น่าจะเป็นสิ่งซึ่งทำให้มนุษย์ได้ทำความรู้จักซึ่งกันและกัน และให้ความร่วมมือกันในวิถีชีวิตที่แตกต่างกัน
2. หลักการแห่งเสรีภาพสำหรับมนุษย์ คือการให้เสรีภาพแก่มนุษย์เพื่อจะได้ดำเนินการตามพระประสงค์ของพระผู้เป็นเจ้า โดยพระองค์ได้สร้างมนุษย์เพื่อให้เป็นผู้พัฒนาโลก และสร้างอารยธรรม มีความรับผิดชอบที่จะปกครองโลก อย่างไรก็ดี ความรับผิดชอบไม่สามารถที่จะมีได้หากปราศจากเสรีภาพ ดังนั้นพระผู้เป็นเจ้าจึงได้ให้มนุษย์เลือกเองว่าจะศรัทธา หรือปฏิเสธ
