สารนิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ในการศึกษาการทำงานเพื่อลดเวลาการผลิตในโรงงานอุตสาหกรรม กรณีศึกษาตัวกรองกากแร่ชนิด M9 ของบริษัทกรณีศึกษา โดยการลดเวลาสูญเสียในกระบวนการผลิต สารนิพนธ์นี้เริ่มจากการศึกษาวิเคราะห์และการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลเพื่อหาสาเหตุของปัญหา และกำหนดแนวทางการแก้ไขที่นำมาใช้ โดยใช้เทคนิคทางวิศวกรรมอุตสาหการได้แก่ ทำการศึกษาการทำงาน แผนภูมิแสดงกระบวนการไหลของขั้นตอนงานย่อย (Flow Process Chart) โดยทำการศึกษาวิธีในการทำงาน จากนั้นจึงนำผลจากการสำรวจเวลาไปทำการวิเคราะห์เพื่อหาสาเหตุและแนวทางในการปรับปรุงเพื่อลดเวลาการทำงานของแต่ละชิ้นส่วนที่เกิดเวลาสูญเสียอยู่มากมาปรับปรุงแก้ไขโดยการเปลี่ยนแปลงวิธีการทำงานแบบเดิมทำให้ช่วยลดเวลาการทำงานลงได้
ผลจากการปรับปรุงสามารถลดเวลาการทำงานลงไปได้ 2,935.20 นาทีต่อถัง จากเดิมที่ใช้เวลาในผลิตตัวกรองกากแร่ชนิด M9 จาก 39 วันต่อถัง ลดลงเหลือ 33 วันต่อถัง ประสิทธิภาพเพิ่มขึ้นคิดเป็นร้อยละ 15.71 และจากการทำงานแบบเดิมผลิตชิ้นงาน 4 ถัง ใช้เวลาอยู่ที่ 156 วัน หลังจากการปรับปรุงการทำงานเวลาลดลงเหลือ 131.5 วัน
