Twenty strains of microalgae were studied: seven known strains and 13
Brazilian isolated from natural ecosystems. Known
algae strains included Spirulina platensis (LEM01), Synechococcus
nidulans (LEM06), Chlorella vulgaris (LEM 07),
Botryococcus braunii (LEM 14 ), Chlorella minutissima (LEM 15), Chlorella kessleri (LEM 16),
and Neochloris oleoabundans (LEM 17). Isolated strains, previously
obtained through classical plating in a nutrient-rich, autotrophic
culture medium (ESP - Basal Medium with Peptone), were named
LEM - IM 01, LEM - IM 03, LEM - IM 05, LEM - IM 06, LEM - IM 07, LEMIM
08, LEM - IM 09, LEM - IM 10, LEM - IM 11, LEM - IM 12 and LEM - IM
