เนื่องจากในปัจจุบันสมุนไพรไทยได้เป็นที่รู้จักและแพร่หลายมากยิ่งขึ้น แต่กลับไม่เป็นที่นิยมในประเทศไทยมากเท่าที่ควร ทำให้ความรู้ภูมิปัญญาดั้งเดิมที่สืบทอดกันต่อมาอาจสูญหายไปตามกาลเวลา ดังนั้นการกระตุ้นให้ตื่นตัวและเรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับสมุนไพรไทยจึงเป็นสิ่งที่สำคัญ จึงได้เกิดแนวคิดที่จะทำโครงงานนี้ขึ้นมา
