ดาวเคราะห์ (กรีก: πλανήτης; อังกฤษ: planetes หรือ "ผู้พเนจร") คือวัตถุขนาดใหญ่ที่โคจรรอบดาวฤกษ์ ก่อนคริสต์ทศวรรษ 1990 มีดาวเคราะห์ที่เรารู้จักเพียง 8 ดวง (ทั้งหมดอยู่ในระบบสุริยะ) ปัจจุบันเรารู้จักดาวเคราะห์ใหม่อีกมากกว่า 100 ดวง ซึ่งเป็นดาวเคราะห์นอกระบบ คือ โคจรรอบดาวฤกษ์ดวงอื่นที่ไม่ใช่ดวงอาทิตย์
