วิธีการศึกษา ได้แก่ ประชุมวางแผนและแบ่งหน้าที่ให้สมาชิกทุกคนในกลุ่ม เตรียมข้อมูล อุปกรณ์และสื่อต่างๆที่จำเป็นในการทำโครงงาน ลงมือปฏิบัติหน้าที่ ค้นคว้าและรวบรวมข้อมูลที่ใช้ทำโครงงาน สรุปผลและนำเสนอโครงงาน
ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ขนมเทียน นับเป็นขนมไทยที่เป็นภูมิปัญญาที่ควรค่าแก่การอนุรักษ์และธำรงไว้ซึ่งความเป็นไทย มีขั้นตอนการทำอันบ่งบอกได้ถึงความละเมียดละไมและการจัดแต่งอย่างประณีตงดงาม การสร้างสรรค์ให้ขนมเทียนมีความน่าสนใจ นำมาประยุกต์ด้วยการสอดไส้ด้วยขนมไทยชนิดต่างๆ คือ ทองหยอด ฝอยทอง และเม็ดขนุน ขนมไทยทั้งสามชนิดนี้ที่ได้รับการคัดเลือกมา ล้วนแล้วแต่สร้างสรรค์ความแปลกใหม่ให้กับตัวขนม
