การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างความดันโลหิต (สูง/ไม่สูง) กับตัวแปรเพศอายุ การสูบบุหรี่ ระดับคอเลสเตอรอล และหมู่บ้านที่พักอาศัย ตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการศึกษาวิจัยเป็นข้อมูลทุติยภูมิ ของประชาชนที่เข้ารับบริการทางสุขภาพ โรงพยาบาลส่งเสริมสุขภาพ ตำบลรูสะมิแล อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดปัตตานี เดือนตุลาคม พ.ศ.2557 ถึง กันยายน พ.ศ.2558 จำนวน 1033 คน วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยสถิติเชิงพรรณนา ได้แก่ ร้อยละ และสถิติเชิงอ้างอิง ได้แก่ สถิติ Chi-squared test และโมเดลการถดถอยโลจิสติก จากผลการวิจัย พบว่า กลุ่มคนที่มีอายุต่ำกว่า 30 ปีมีโอกาสเป็นโรคความดันโลหิตสูงน้อยกว่าผู้สูงอายุ คนที่มีระดับคอเลสเตอรอลในเลือดสูงมีความเสี่ยงเป็นโรคความดันโลหิตสูง นอกจากนี้ยังพบว่าการสูบบุหรี่มีผลต่อการเป็นโรคความดันโลหิตสูงด้วย
