กำเนิดมวยสากล
มวยสากลเป็นศิลปะการต่อสู้ที่มีมาแต่โบราณ โดยเป็นการต่อสู้ด้วยมือเปล่าของทหารในสนามรบ และกลายเป้นเกมกีฬาในการแข่งขันโอลิมปิคยุคโบราณ โดยที่นักมวยในยุคนั้นไม่มีการจำกัดน้ำหนัก ไม่สวมเครื่องป้องกันตัว และไม่จำกัดว่าต้องใช้ได้เพียงหมัด สามารถกัดหรือถองคู่ต่อสู้ได้ โดยไม่มีกติกามากนัก เพียงแต่นักมวยทั้งคู่ต้องถอดเสื้อผ้าให้หมดทั้งตัว เพื่อไม่ให้ซ่อนอาวุธเอาไว้ จนกระทั่งในปี [[พ.ศ. 2236]] [[เจมส์ ฟิกซ์]] (James Figg) ผู้ชนะเลิศการต่อสู้ด้วยมือเปล่าชาว[[อังกฤษ]]ได้กำหนดกฎกติกาในการชก จนได้รับการเรียกขานว่าเป็น " บิดาแห่งมวยสากล " และต่อมาก็ได้มีผู้สร้าง[[นวม]]ขึ้นมา แต่ยังไม่มีการใช้ จนกระทั่งในปี [[พ.ศ. 2432]] [[จอห์น แอล ซัลลิแวน]] (John L. มวยสากลในประเทศไทย

มวยสากลหรือที่เรียกในยุคแรกว่า "มวยฝรั่ง" เข้าสู่ประเทศไทยครั้งแรกราว พ.ศ. 2455 โดยได้แบบอย่างจากประเทศอังกฤษ ผู้นำมาเผยแพร่คือหม่อมเจ้าวิบูลย์สวัสดิวงศ์ สวัสดิกุล ครั้งแรกนำมาเผยแพร่ที่โรงเรียนสวนกุหลาบวิทยาลัย และแพร่ต่อไปยังโรงเรียนต่างๆ มีการจัดแข่งขันมวยนักเรียนซึ่งเป็นแบบมวยสากลสมัครเล่น

6.2 กติกาการแข่งขัน ให้กติกาการแข่งขัน มวยสากลสมัครเล่น ของสหพันธ์มวยสากล
สมัครเล่นนานาชาติ (IBA) ซึ่งสานักงานพัฒนาการกีฬาและนันทนาการและสมาคมมวยสากลสมัครเล่น
แห่งประเทศไทยใช้อยู่ในปัจจุบัน
ข้อ 7 คุณสมบัติของผู้เข้าร่วมการแข่งขัน
7.1 เป็นนักเรียน นักศึกษาระบบปกติ และระบบทวิภาคี ระดับ ปวช. ปวส. ปทส. และ
ปริญญาตรี สถานศึกษาสานักงานคณะกรรมการการอาชีวศึกษาและได้ลงทะเบียนเรียน มีผลการเรียน
ไม่น้อยกว่า 1 ภาคเรียน ยกเว้นการแข่งขันกีฬาในระดับจังหวัดและภาค
7.2 ต้องมีอายุตั้งแต่ 15 ปี ขึ้นไป และไม่เกิน 25 ปี (ใช้ พ.ศ. ปัจจุบันลบด้วย พ.ศ. เกิด)
ข้อ 8 ประเภทการแข่งขัน
การแข่งขันประเภทนี้ เรียกว่า “การแข่งขันมวยสากลสมัครเล่น กีฬาอาชีวะเกมส์ ครั้งที่ 8
พ.ศ.2554 ” จะทา การแข่งขัน ระหว่างวันที่ 20-26 สิงหาคม 2556 ณ จังหวัดชลบุรี
ประเภทบุคคลชาย กา หนดให้มีการแข่งขันมวยสากลสมัครเล่นชายแบ่งออกเป็น 8 รุ่น ดังนี้
