การวิจัยในครั้งนี้เป็นการศึกษาแนวทางในการพัฒนาศักยภาพบุคลากรในธุรกิจโรงแรม จังหวัดอุบลราชธานี โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์ของการวิจัยคือ 1) เพื่อศึกษาการพัฒนาศักยภาพของบุคลากรในธุรกิจโรงแรมในจังหวัดอุบลราชธานี 2) เพื่อหาแนวทางในการพัฒนาศักยภาพของบุคลากรในธุรกิจโรงแรมในจังหวัดอุบลราชธานี
การดำเนินการวิจัยในครั้งนี้ทำการศึกษากับบุคลากรโรงแรมในจังหวัดอุบลราชธานี มี 3 แห่ง ได้แก่ 1) บุคลากรในโรงแรม The Rich 2) บุคลากรในโรงแรม ฉัตรสุรีย์ บูติค รีสอร์ท 3) บุคลากรในโรงแรม กิจตรงวิลล์ รีสอร์ท การเลือกกลุ่มตัวอย่างเลือกแบบสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบความน่าจะเป็น เครื่องมือที่ใช้คือ แบบสอบถาม การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลใช้เชิงสถิติเชิงพรรณนา ได้แก่ ค่าความถี่ (Frequencies) และค่าร้อยละ(Percentage)
ผลการวิจัยพบว่า
บุคลากรในโรงแรมส่วนมากต้องการพัฒนาศักยภาพด้านความรู้ทางภาษา คิดเป็นร้อยละ 70 รองลงมาคือการพัฒนาด้านมนุษยสัมพันธ์ คิดเป็นร้อยละ 68.9 ด้านการพัฒนาด้านบุคลิกภาพ คิดเป็นร้อยละ 66.7 ด้านการพัฒนาด้านการสื่อสาร คิดเป็นร้อยละ 64.4 และการพัฒนาด้านมาตรฐานการบริการและด้านเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ ซึ่งมีจำนวนเท่ากันคือ คิดเป็นร้อยละ 58.9
แนวทางในการพัฒนาศักยภาพของบุคลากรในธุรกิจโรงแรม จังหวัดอุบลราชธานี มีความต้องการที่จะพัฒนาศักยภาพ ลำดับแรกคือ ต้องการพัฒนาศักยภาพในด้านความสามารถในการเป็นผู้นำกิจกรรมนันทนาการเพื่อความบันเทิงให้แก่นักท่องเที่ยว มีค่าเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 3.19 เนื่องจากทางโรงแรมไม่มีการจัดอบรมการพัฒนาศักยภาพในด้านนี้จึงทำให้บุคลากรต้องการที่พัฒนาในด้านนี้ ลำดับที่สองคือ ด้านความสามารถในการแนะนำและถ่ายทอดความรู้เกี่ยวกับสถานและวิธีการเดินทางท่องเที่ยว มีค่าเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 3.24 เนื่องจากโรงแรมมีนักท่องเที่ยวเข้ามาใช้บริการจำนวนมากบุคลาการจึงต้องมีความรู้ในด้านนี้ และลำดับที่สามคือ ด้านความรู้ความเข้าใจในกิจการธุรกิจท่องเที่ยวทั่วๆ ไปมีค่าเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 3.29 เนื่องจากจังหวัดอุบลราชธานีเป็นจังหวัดที่มีแหล่งท่องเที่ยวจำนวนมากดังนั้นบุคลากรจึงต้องมีความรู้ในเรื่องกิจการท่องเที่ยวเป็นอย่างดีเพื่อที่จะให้ความรู้แหล่งท่องเที่ยวแก่ลูกค้าได้
