การวิจัยนี้มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อการพัฒนากระบวนการเตรียมวัตถุดิบในการกวนไส้ครีมต่างๆของการผลิตซาลาเปาไส้ครีมต่างๆ ซึ่งเป็นสินค้าที่ขายดีอีกชนิดของ บริษัท ซีพีแรม จำกัด การดำเนินการวิจัยประยุกต์การทำงานเพื่อเพิ่มผลผลิตและลดขั้นตอนของการทำงานในกระบวนการเจาะกระป๋องนมจืด ของกระบวนการเตรียมวัตถุดิบในกระบวนการกวนไส้ครีมซาลาเปาลง โดยการใช้หลักการทำงานต่างๆ เช่น หลักการพื้นฐานของความสูญเปล่า การลดความสูญเปล่าด้วยหลักการ ECS การกำจัดความสูญเสียทั้ง 7 ประการ (7 Waste) เป็นต้น
จากการทดลองการทำงานของเครื่องเจาะกระป๋องนมจืดทำการกระป๋องนมจืด จำนวน 10 กระป่อง โดยการใช้แผนภูมิการไหลของกระบวนการทำงาน พบว่าขั้นตอนการทำงานของพนักงานลดลง จาก 33 ขั้นตอนก่อนทำการปรับปรุง ลดลงเหลือ 18 ขั้นตอน และเวลาการทำงานลดลงจากเดิมก่อนการปรับปรุงจะอยู่ที่ 150 วินาที หรือ ประมาณ 15 วินาที / กระป๋อง ลดลงเหลือ 62.5 วินาที หรือ ประมาณ 6.25 วินาที / กระป๋อง โดยสามารถที่จะลดเวลาลงไปได้ 87.5 วินาที และมีต้นทุนด้านค่าแรงของพนักงาน 146.25 บาท /วัน 3,802.5 บาท / เดือน 45,630 บาท / ปี โดยที่จะสามารถลดต้นทุนด้านค่าแรงของพนักงานลงได้ 204.42 บาท / วัน 5,314.92 บาท / เดือน 63,779.04 บาท / ปี และต้นทุนในการจัดทำเครื่องต้นแบบอยู่ที่ 33,144 บาท โดยจุดคุ้มทุนของเครื่องต้นแบบอยู่ที่ 6.24 เดือน
