หาดทรายดำ เป็นสิ่งมหัศจรรย์ที่เกิดขึ้นจากระบบนิเวศของธรรมชาติ ตั้งอยู่บนพื้นที่ของป่าสงวนแห่งชาติ โดยสิ่งที่โดดเด่นที่สุดคือสีของทรายที่เป็นสีดำ ปัจจุบันมีเพียง 5 แห่งในโลก ซึ่งหนึ่งในห้านั้นก็ ป่าแหลมมะขาม อำเภอแหลมงอบ จ.ตราด ดินแดนภาคตะวันออกของประเทศไทย
การเดินทาง
โดยรถยนต์ หาดทรายดำตั้งอยู่ที่ตำบลบางปิด ห่างจากอำเภอแหลมงอบ จังหวัดตราด ประมาณ 12 กิโลเมตร หากมาด้วยรถส่วนตัวใช้เส้นทางหลวงหมายเลข 3156 เลยทางแยกแหลมงอบ – บ้านแสนตุ้งประมาณ 8 กิโลเมตร จะมีทางแยกซ้ายมือเข้าไปอีก 4 กิโลเมตร ก็จะถึงสถานีพัฒนาทรัพยากรป่าชายเลนที่ 4 (บ้านน้ำเชี่ยว)
