พื้นที่ตำบลเขาวง อำเภอพระพุทธบาท จังหวัดสระบุรี มีพื้นที่เป็นภูเขาส่วนใหญ่ และเป็นพื้นที่ประทานบัตรเหมืองหินปูน จึงประสบกับปัญหาเรื่องผลกระทบสิ่งแวดล้อมในด้านต่างๆ รวมทั้งด้านสุนทรียภาพด้วย การศึกษาวิจัยในครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์คือ เพื่อศึกษาผลกระทบสิ่งแวดล้อมทางด้านสุนทรียภาพ เพื่อวิเคราะห์ผลกระทบสิ่งแวดล้อมทางด้านสุนทรียภาพใน และเพื่อใช้เทคนิคภูมิสถาปัตยกรรมในการปรับปรุงภูมิทัศน์ในพื้นที่ที่ได้รับผลกระทบจากเหมืองหินปูน ตลอดจนเสนอแนะแนวทางมาตรการลดปัญหาผลกระทบสิ่งแวดล้อมทางดานสุนทรียภาพ โดยขั้นตอนการศึกษามีดังนี้คือ 1. การศึกษาข้อมูลทุติยภูมิ 2. การศึกษาข้อมูลปฐมภูมิ ใช้แบบสอบถามเป็นเครื่องมือในการรวบรวมข้อมูล 3. การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล และออกแบบภูมิสถาปัตยกรรมเพื่อลดผลกระทบทางด้านสุนทรียภาพในพื้นที่ที่มีการทำเหมืองหินปูน และ 4. การสรุปผลการศึกษา และข้อเสนอแนะ จากการศึกษาพบว่า ผลกระทบสิ่งแวดล้อมทางด้านสุนทรียภาพในพื้นที่ตำบลเขาวง ได้แก่ ฝุ่นละออง และทัศนียภาพไม่สวยงาม ส่วนผลกระทบสิ่งแวดล้อมด้านอื่นๆ ได้แก่ การคมนาคมไม่สะดวก ถนนชำรุด สั่นสะเทือน เสียงดัง กลิ่นเหม็น และสิ่งปนเปื้อนในน้ำ โดยผลกระทบสิ่งแวดล้อมทางด้านสุนทรียภาพด้านฝุ่นละออง มีสาเหตุมาจาก การระเบิดหิน การขนส่งหิน ถนนชำรุด และฝุ่นละอองที่มาจากโรงงานปูน ส่วนด้านทัศนียภาพไม่สวยงาม มีสาเหตุมาจาก การทำเหมืองหินปูน การสร้างโรงงานปูนบดบังทัศนียภาพภูเขา ถนนหนทางที่ถูกรถบรรทุกขนหิน และรถขนปูนวิ่งสัญจรจนชำรุดเสียหาย และฝุ่นละอองที่เกาะตามต้นไม้ อาคารบ้านเรือนที่อยู่อาศัย ตลอดจนสถานที่ราชการต่างๆ ดังนั้นแนวทางในการออกแบบภูมิสถาปัตยกรรมโดยส่วนใหญ่จะใช้พันธุ์ไม้ เพื่อใช้เป็นแนวกำแพงบังสายตา เป็นแนวกำบังฝุ่น และใช้ปรับปรุงภูมิทัศน์ รอบๆ พื้นที่เหมืองหินปูน ซึ่งสามารถช่วยลดผลกระทบสิ่งแวดล้อมทางด้านสุนทรียภาพในพื้นที่ที่มีการทำเหมืองหินปูนได้ ในการวิจัยนี้ผู้วิจัยมีข้อเสนอแนะในการแก้ไขปัญหาผลกระทบสิ่งแวดล้อมในพื้นที่ที่มีการทำเหมืองหินปูนคือ การมีส่วนร่วมของทุกฝ่าย ทั้งประชาชนที่อาศัยอยู่ในพื้นที่ หน่วยงานภาครัฐที่เกี่ยวข้อง และบริษัทผู้ประทานบัตรเหมืองหินปูน ในการร่วมหารือกัน เพื่อหาแนวทางในการลดผลกระทบสิ่งแวดล้อมที่เกิดขึ้นในพื้นที่ที่มีการทำเหมืองหินปูนได้อย่างยั่งยืนตลอดไป
