ปัจจุบัน ชาวเชียงใหม่ได้มีการฟื้นฟูวัฒนธรรมการแต่งกายพื้นเมืองขึ้น ซึ่งมีหลายรูปแบบตามเผ่าพันธุ์ของกลุ่มชนที่อาศัยอยู่ในอาณาจักรล้านนาใน อดีต เป็นการประยุกต์รูปแบบของเสื้อผ้าในยุคดั้งเดิมมาแต่งโดยพยายามรักษาความ เป็นเอกลักษณ์ของชาวพื้นเมืองเชียงใหม่ไว้ ดังนั้น จึงได้มีการพิจารณาให้ความเห็นชอบในรูปแบบการแต่งกายพื้นเมือง โดยคณะอนุกรรมการวัฒนธรรมจังหวัดเชียงใหม่เมื่อปีพุทธศักราช๒๕๓๔



การ แต่งกายของคนภาคเหนือที่เป็นชาวบ้านทั่วไป ชายจะนุ่งกางเกงขายาวลักษณะแบบกางเกงขายาวแบบ 3 ส่วน เรียกติดปากว่า “เตี่ยว” หรือ เตี่ยวสะดอ ทำจากผ้าฝ้าย ย้อมสีน้ำเงินหรือสีดำ ส่วนเสื้อก็นิยมสวมเสื้อผ้าฝ้ายคอกลม แขนสั้น แบบผ่าอก กระดุม 5 เม็ด สีน้ำเงินหรือสีดำ เช่นเดียวกัน เรียกว่า เสื้อม่อฮ่อม ชุดนี้ใส่เวลาทำงาน
