The aim of this research was first to test a framework for the relationship between knowledge worker satisfaction and organizational culture within a specific industry, specifically the pharmaceutical industry. Second, to determine what type of organizational structure is appropriate for working in the industry being studied. The author draws on multiple case study research and conducts the work using semi-structured interviews. Interviews will be conducted with individuals working in each company's R&D business over a two-month period between May and June 2009.
