ลาบานูน เป็นวงดนตรีของสามหนุ่มเชื้อสายไทยมุสลิมจาก อิสลามวิทยาลัยแห่งประเทศไทย (Islamic College of Thailand) ทุ่งครุ หอพักประจำฯ (ชาย) โดยมี อาจารย์ พีรพนร์ ชัยตรี เป็นรุ่นที่.. เกิดจากการ เข้าร่วมประกวดในโครงการ "Hot Wave Music Awards" และ ผ่านเข้าไปในรอบ 10 วงสุดท้ายโดย มี ธเนศ วรากุลนุเคราะห์ ค่ายมิวสิกบั๊กส์ หนึ่งในคณะกรรมการตัดสิน ได้ชักชวนพวกเขามาร่วมงาน
"ลาบานูน" เป็นภาษาอาหรับ แปลว่า "นมสด" ซึ่งเป็นคำจำกัด ความของพวกเขา เพราะดนตรีในความคิด ของพวกเขาคือ นมสด รสจืด ไม่เจือสี ไม่ปรุงแต่ง รสชาติ อะไรให้วุ่นวายซับซ้อน เหมือนกับวงของพวกเขา ที่ใช้ เครื่องดนตรีเพียง 3 ชิ้น คือกีตาร์ เบส และกลอง หลังจากที่อัลบั้ม "24 ชั่วโมง" ออกไป พวกเขาก็แยกกันไปทำงานโดยเมธีเป็นสมาชิกสภาองค์การบริหารส่วนจังหวัดสตูล อนันต์เป็นที่ปรึกษาให้กับบริษัทดีแทค ส่วนสมพรไปตีกลองให้กับวงกะลาและในปี 2552 เขาได้กลับมารวมกันใหม่โดยมีมือกลองคนใหม่จากวง "Oblivious" และเพลงเปิดตัวคือเพลง "ประกันชั้น 3" ทั้งนี้ลาบานูนยังร่วมงาน40ปีของหนังสือเดอะกีต้าร์อีกด้วย
