     ประเทศไทยร่วมลงนามตามความตกลงมาร์ราเกซ  ซึ่งเป้นความตกลงจัดตั้ง  WTO  โดยประเทศไทยเข้าเป้นสมาชิกลำดับที่  59  มีสิทธิและหน้าที่ที่จะต้องปฏิบัติให้เป็นไปตามข้อผูกพันที่สำคัญๆ  ดังนี้ 
การเปิดตลาดสินค้าเกษตร
การลดภาษีสินค้าอุตสาหกรรม
การขยายการส่งออกสิ่งทอ
การลดภาษีสินค้าเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ
การเปิดตลาดการค้าบริการ
ภาษีศุลกากรจากการใช้สื่ออิเล็กทรอนิกส์ 
การยกเลิกการกำหนดสัดส่วนการใช้วัตถุดิบ  หรือชิ้นส่วนในประเทศ
ออกกฏหมายว่าด้วยการประเมินราคาศุลกากร
ออกกฏหมายว่าด้วยทรัย์สินทางปัญญาที่เกี่ยวกับการค้า
