ในปี พ.ศ.2539 เนื่องในวโรกาสพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวภูมิพลอดุลยเดช ทรงครองสิริราชสมบัติครบ 50 ปี คณะกรรมการวัดได้มีมติในการจัดสร้างพระอุโบสถเพื่อเป็นอนุสรณ์เนื่องในมหามงคลวโรกาสครั้งนั้น ลักษณะพระอุโบสถเป็นทรงไทยประยุกต์ ขนาดกว้าง 30 เมตร ยาว 60 เมตร
