3.ตนตามอุดมคติ(Ideal Self) ตัวตนที่อยากมีอยากเป็น แต่ยังไม่มี ไม่เป็นในสภาวะปัจจุบัน เช่น ชอบเก็บตัวแต่อยากเก่งเข้าสังคม เป็นต้น
ถ้าตัวตนทั้ง 3 ลักษณะ ค่อนข้างตรงกันมากจะทำให้มีบุคลิกภาพมั่นคง แต่ถ้าแตกต่างกันสูง จะมีความสับสนและอ่อนแอด้านบุคลิกภาพ
