ประวัติการผูกเสี่ยว หรือ พิธีผูกเสี่ยว

การผูกเสี่ยว หรือพิธีผูกเสี่ยว จัดเป็นประเพณีเก่าแก่ และดีงามพิธีหนึ่งของชาวภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ ที่ได้ประพฤติปฎิบัติสืบทอดกันมาเป็นเวลานานนับศตวรรษ จังหวัดขอนแก่นได้เล็งเห็นความสำคัญของพิธีผูกเสี่ยวนี้ จึงได้นำพิธีผูกเสี่ยวผนวกเข้ากับงานเทศกาลไหมฯ ซึ่งเป็นงานประจำปี ของจังหวัดขอนแ ก่น ตั้งแต่ปี 2523 เป็นต้นมา

หลายท่านคงสงสัยว่า พิธีผูกเสี่ยวนี้มีความสำคัญอย่างไร จังหวัดขอนแก่น จึงนำมารวมเป็น งานเดียวกับงานเทศกาลไหมประจำปีของจังหวัดขอนแก่น ก่อนอื่นต้องทำความเข้าใจถึงความหมายของคำว่า"เสี่ยว”เสียก่อน
