วัดยุคใหม่ สมัยนี้ ได้มีการสร้างทำ “อารยสถาปัตย์” กันอย่างแพร่หลายมากขึ้น

เมื่อสัปดาห์ก่อน ท่านอธิบดีกรมการศาสนา คุณกฤษศญพงษ์ ศิริ ได้ชวนผมไปสำรวจอารยสถาปัตย์วัดปากน้ำ ภาษีเจริญ และเข้ากราบนมัสการท่านเจ้าประคุณสมเด็จพระมหารัชมังคลาจารย์ ผู้ปฏิบัติหน้าที่สมเด็จพระสังฆราช และเจ้าอาวาสวัดปากน้ำ

ผมจึงมีโอกาสได้มาวัดปากน้ำเป็นครั้งแรก ทั้งๆที่ผมรู้จักวัดนี้มาตั้งแต่สมัยยังเป็นเด็ก เคยได้ยินเรื่องราวของพระมงคลเทพมุนี หรือหลวงพ่อสด อดีตเจ้าอาวาสวัดปากน้ำ ผู้ค้นพบวิชาธรรมกาย สมัยนั้นผมยังจำได้ว่ามีเหรียญหลวงพ่อสด คล้องคอติดตัวอยู่เสมอ

วัดปากน้ำในปัจจุบัน ยังคงมีญาติโยมจากทั่วทุกสารทิศเดินทางมากราบสรีระของหลวงพ่อสด และทำบุญ ปฏิบัติธรรมกันอย่างหนาแน่นไม่ขาดสาย รวมถึงนักท่องเที่ยวชาวต่างชาติที่มักเดินทางมาเที่ยวชมความงามของสิ่งปลูกสร้างต่างๆภายในวัดแห่งนี้ โดยเฉพาะพระมหาเจดีย์มหารัชมงคลที่สวยงามอลังการด้วยพุทธศิลป์แนวร่วมสมัย

ที่สำคัญคือ วัดปากน้ำยุคใหม่ โดยท่านเจ้าประคุณสมเด็จฯ ได้สร้างทำอารยสถาปัตย์ไว้เกือบทั่วทุกจุดภายในบริเวณวัด ไม่ว่าจะเป็นทางลาดขึ้น-ลงพระอุโบสถ หอฉัน กุฏิ ศาลา และโดยเฉพาะที่พระมหาเจดีย์ฯมีลิฟต์ให้บริการเสร็จสรรพ
